From February 6 to 9, 2026, Chair Prof. Joseph Hun-wei Lee, Chairman of the University Advisory Committee, Director of the Key Laboratory of River Basin Digital Twinning of Ministry of Water Resources, and Chief Scientist, led a delegation to visit China Three Gorges University (CTGU). The delegation included: Prof. Sun Qiao, Dean of the Faculty of Innovation Engineering; Prof. Li Xiaodong, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Innovation Engineering; Prof. Ma Yibing, Head of the Department of Environmental Science and Engineering; Prof. Zhang Tao from the School of Computer Science and Engineering; and Dr. Sun Chuan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Engineering Science.
During the visit, the delegation was warmly received by Prof. Huang Yan, President of CTGU; Prof. Wang Lehua, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President; Prof. Tan Yunzhi, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Director of the Institute of Science and Technology Development; Prof. Huang Hua, Director of Student Affairs Office; Prof. Shangguan Yan, Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Office; Prof. Li Weiming, Executive Dean of the School of Hydraulic and Environmental Engineering; Prof. Cheng Jiangzhou, Dean of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Prof. Ji Daobin, Executive Dean of the Digital Intelligence Research Institute; Prof. Cheng Shan, Associate Dean of the School of Electrical and New Energy; and Prof. Ma Kai, Associate Dean of the Digital Intelligence Research Institute.

The delegation visited the Engineering Training Center of China Three Gorges University.
On February 7, the delegation visited CTGU’s Intelligent Manufacturing Center, Engineering Training Center, University History Museum, and the Landslide Surge Experiment Facility. Through the visits and discussions, the delegation gained detailed insights into CTGU’s development in institutional reform, teaching, and scientific research.
During the exchange, Dean Sun Qiao also provided a detailed introduction to MUST’s Faculty of Innovation Engineering, including its disciplinary development and academic characteristics, laying a solid foundation for further collaboration in engineering education and research between the two universities.

Visit to the School of Electrical and New Energy Engineering of CTGU
On February 8, the delegation visited the Three Gorges Dam, the largest hydraulic engineering project and hydropower station in the world, which carries the critical mission of Yangtze River ecological protection and comprehensive basin governance. Through explanations provided by professional guides, the delegation learned about engineering practices related to Yangtze River protection and comprehensive watershed management.

The visit further expanded cooperation between the two universities in scientific research, talent cultivation, and platform development. Both sides expressed that this visit serves as an opportunity to further deepen collaboration in water resources and environmental studies, digital twin watershed research, engineering education, and smart campus initiatives.
