Program Educational Objectives

The Master Program of Materials Science and Engineering has the following objectives:

  1. Research Ability. The program will train students to master the comprehensive experimental and theoretical research ability of materials science, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and other multidisciplinary cross-application, so that they can be engaged in the research of raw materials to material products and material devices.

  2. Creative ability. The program will train students to have a broad vision, creative consciousness, and creative ability, and to be able to think independently, solve problems, and carry out innovative research.

  3. Teamwork ability. The program will train students to have teamwork and communication abilities, and be able to carry out scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation programs with peers, high-end experts, and industry users in various aspects.

  4. Practical ability: The program will train students to have practical, research, and problem-solving abilities, to be able to master the whole material research process, and skillful application of related tools and techniques.


Program Outcomes

At graduation, a Master of Materials Science and Engineering degree graduate at MUST should achieve the following capabilities.

  1. Basic theories and methods related to materials science and engineering. Through the study, the student will fully grasp the research methods of materials science and related basic knowledge, have a solid theoretical foundation, and the ability to carry out research and development activities in the emerging materials industry.

  2. Research paper writing ability. Through learning, the student will have the ability to collect, read, organize and plan the citation of literature, have the ability to collect and analyze receipts, and be able to write and publish papers independently.

  3. Experimental Skills in Materials Synthesis, Analysis and Characterization. The student will Develop experimental skills in materials through experiments in the preparation and characterization of various materials.

  4. Continuous learning and adaptive development ability. The student will achieve a sense of independent learning and lifelong learning, the ability to conduct research on complex issues in the field of materials science and engineering based on scientific principles and using scientific methods, and to obtain reasonable and effective conclusions.

  5. Innovative research ability. Through the design, development and completion of the project, the student will achieve the writing, revision and publication of the relevant papers, the formation of innovative thinking, the ability to address the problems and challenges of the relevant fields, the design of original research projects, and high-quality completion.
