On January 12, 2026, the Chinese Education and Information Promotion Association (CEIPA) and the Faculty of Innovation Engineering (FIE) of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) held an exchange meeting to explore potential collaboration in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) curricula tailored to Macao’s primary and secondary education. The exchange aimed to examine how the research strengths and teaching resources of higher education institutions could be leveraged to create new opportunities and greater scope for cultivating AI literacy at the basic education level in Macao.
During the meeting, Associate Professor Yang Lei, Director of undergraduate studies (Outreach) of FIE, along with Associate Professor Leung Yin Yin and Assistant Professors Ren Xiaolei and Song Jiayang, engaged in discussions with Mr. Wong Kai Yuen, President of the CEIPA, Mr. Choi Yim Lung, Chairman, Mr. Liu Chun Bin, Executive Chairman, and Ms. Nie Han, Chief Supervisor. The two sides exchanged views on potential directions for cooperation, focusing on how the Faculty’s research foundations in high and emerging technologies could be integrated with the practical teaching needs of Macao’s primary and secondary schools.
Looking ahead, CEIPA and the FIE continue to maintain communication and exchanges, further explore the feasibility of establishing appropriate collaboration mechanisms. Through a gradual and systematic approach to promoting industry–academia exchange, they aim to provide stronger support and valuable reference points for the localization and sustainable development of AI education in Macao.
