The 32nd Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC), hosted by Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST) and technically sponsored by the IEEE Computer Society, was successfully held at Wynn Palace in Macau from December 2 to 5, 2025. The conference attracted nearly 160 experts and scholars from the field of software engineering both domestically and internationally.
The 32nd APSEC is a flagship software engineering conference in the Asia-Pacific region and is recognized by the China Computer Federation as a high-level international conference. The conference was chaired by Professor Tao ZHANG from the School of Computer Science and Engineering of the Faculty of Innovation Engineering (FIE) at MUST and Professor Xiapu LUO from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The Program Committee was co-chaired by Associate Professor Jacky Keung from City University of Hong Kong and Associate Professor Eunjong Choi from Kyoto Institute of Technology. The Local Organizing Committee was led by Assistant Professor Xiaolei REN and Associate Professor Yuyang PENG.
A total of 304 submissions were received across various tracks, with the most notable research paper track attracting 241 submissions—the highest number in the conference’s history. After rigorous review by at least three Program Committee members, 68 papers were accepted, resulting in an acceptance rate of 28.2%, ensuring the high academic quality of the conference.
The conference was presided over by General Chair Professor Tao ZHANG, with opening remarks delivered by Chair Professor Joseph Hun-wei Lee, President of MUST, and Professor Hironori WASHIZAKI, President of the IEEE Computer Society and Professor at Waseda University. The event also featured keynote speeches from three renowned scholars in the field of software engineering: Professor Yang LIU from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Professor Martin MONPERRUS from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, and Professor Xin XIA from Zhejiang University.
