MUST Materials Science Ph.D. Candidate Minglu Bu Awarded "Best Poster Prize" at ICSERS-2025

2025/12/16

During the 3rd International Conference on Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (ICSERS-2025), held at Xiamen University from November 28 to 30, 2025, Minglu Bu, a Ph.D. student from the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), was successfully awarded the “Best Poster Award”.

ICSERS-2025 was jointly organized by the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the State Key Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Solid Surfaces at Xiamen University. As one of the most influential international academic events in the field of Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (SERS) globally, this year’s conference brought together over 200 experts and scholars from more than ten countries. Discussions centered around three major themes: Bio&Analysis, Electrochemistry, and Plasmonics, aiming to deepen international collaboration and promote the continuous advancement of Raman spectroscopy.

The award-winning poster, titled "Tunable Gold Nanocrystal Films for Ultrasensitive and Reproducible SERS Detection", was completed by Minglu Bu under the guidance of his supervisor, Assistant Professor Yi-Yu Cai. The research focuses on the construction of tunable gold nanocrystal films and explores their application in ultra-sensitive and highly reproducible SERS detection.

Minglu Bu’s poster stood out from the competition due to its innovative approach to tunable nanomaterial design and structural modulation methods, as well as its excellent performance in ultra-high sensitivity SERS detection, earning positive recognition from international peers. This research project was supported by the Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT), Macao SAR (Grant Nos.: 0024/2024/RIB1 and 0136/2024/RIA2).
