On December 2, 2024, the 2024 - 2025 Huawei ICT Competition held in Macao came to an end after fierce competition, and the award ceremony was held on the same day. This year’s competition attracted nearly 800 students to participate. Among them, 72 college students in 25 teams competed for the final ranking. The team from our university won the first prize (champion) in the cloud track of the university group.
The winning team members were all from the Faculty of Innovation Engineering, supervised by assistant professor LIANG Zhiyao. The three team members expressed their feelings about winning the award as follows:
WU Yuze (Artificial Intelligence major, sophomore): I would like to thank my team members especially. Everyone worked very hard and overcame many difficulties. Through this competition, I deeply realized the wide application of cloud computing and its impact on future technological development. Continuous learning and practice are particularly important in the constantly changing technological environment.
ZHONG Aitong (Intelligent Technology major, first-year postgraduate): I would like to thank our college and Huawei for providing such a good learning platform and giving us the opportunity to participate in such a challenging competition. The support and encouragement from the college made us more confident and excellent in the competition. I hope there will be more such activities in the future to inspire more students to pursue excellence!
LI Zhenglong (Computer Science major, junior): In this competition, I felt fierce competition from all sides, but at the same time, I also experienced the power of teamwork. Not only did this competition improve my ability but also gave me a deeper understanding of the applications of cloud computing, big data, and artificial intelligence.

This championship team will represent Macao to participate in the Asia-Pacific regional competition next year. They are actively preparing, aiming for the highest honor in the Huawei Global ICT Competition.
