On November 24, 2024, the "Inter-School A.I. Formula EdgeTM Competition Greater Bay Area-Macau 2024 ", jointly organized by the Macau University of Science and Technology, IEEE Macau, STEM PLUS, and the Smart City Consortium of Hong Kong, was successfully held at the Indoor Gymnasium of the Macau University of Science and Technology.
The rapid development of artificial intelligence technology allows young people to better understand and apply these technologies through appropriate education and training. This competition continues the success of the first "Inter-School A.I. EDGE Formula Competition" held in Macau in 2023, which once again received recognition and support from multiple schools in the region. In 2024, the competition has further expanded, adding a university division, and it has gained the approval and support of the Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau.

This year's competition attracted over a dozen teams from various secondary schools and three universities in Macau. After several rounds of intense and exciting competition, the Voom team from the Macau University of Science and Technology won the championship in the university division, while the SON AI Police team from the School of The Nations Macao secured the top spot in the secondary school division.

In a post-competition interview, the Voom team expressed their overwhelming joy at the victory, highlighting the team's unity and their relentless pursuit of speed as the key to their success. On the other hand, the School of The Nations admitted that their initial goal was merely to surpass last year's performance and reach the semi-finals, making their eventual championship win both surprising and thrilling.

Award Ceremony
The award ceremony for the competition was held on November 24, 2024, at the Indoor Gymnasium of the Macau University of Science and Technology, attracting numerous distinguished guests. Among them were Ms. Li Yanqi, Head of the Macao Education and Youth Development Bureau, and Mr. Chan Chou Weng, Head of The Economic and Technological Development Bureau.

The organizers stated that the competition aims to provide a platform for young people in Macau to practice and apply advanced technology and AI knowledge through the smart EDGE formula competition, and to deepen their understanding and awareness of the field of autonomous driving technology.
