M.U.S.T. Successfully Held the 15th Asia-Pacific Symposium on Internetware

The 15th Asia-Pacific Symposium on Internetware (Internetware 2024) was held at the Wynn Palace in Macau from July 24-26, 2024. This conference was hosted by ACM and China Computer Federation (CCF), and co-organized by Macau University of Science and Technology, CCF TCSE, and CCF TCSS. The conference attracted nearly 150 domestic and foreign scholars in the field of software engineering to attend the conference.

Internetware is a high-level international conference in the field of software engineering recommended by the CCF. The conference focused on and discussed the cutting-edge technologies of software forms in new application scenarios in the Internet environment, especially the new challenges and opportunities brought about by changes in software development and maintenance scenarios in the era of large models. The conference also attracted the participation and attention of industry experts from many well-known companies (such as Huawei).

The conference was chaired by Chair Professor Du ZHANG of M.U.S.T. and Professor Zibin ZHENG of Sun Yat-sen University. Associate Professor Tao ZHANG of M.U.S.T., Chair Professor Shing-Chi Cheung of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Dr. Jie ZHANG of King's College London served as co-chairs of the program committee. The conference received a total of 104 research papers, the highest number of valid submissions in the past five years. The conference finally accepted 47 papers, one of which was selected for the ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award.

The conference was chaired by Associate Professor Tao ZHANG of M.U.S.T., and the opening speeches were given by Professor Hong MEI from Peking University, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Xiaoxing MA from Nanjing University, the honorary chairman of the conference. The conference covered 13 parallel sessions and invited three outstanding scientists in the field of software engineering to give keynote talks. They are Professor Andreas Zeller from Saarland University in Germany, Professor Tao XIE from Peking University, and Professor Hongxia YANG from the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

The conference brought together research scholars and industry elites in the field of software engineering, which greatly improved the influence and reputation of Macau University of Science and Technology in the field of software engineering. It also promoted academic exchanges at home and abroad and strengthened the university's further understanding and communication with first-class universities at home and abroad and related well-known IT companies, and laid the foundation for further cooperation.
