The Joint Laboratory was officially inaugurated in April 2026 and is jointly established by MIMSE at MUST and i3N at NOVA University Lisbon.

During the visit, Prof. Martins and Prof. Fortunato attended a research exchange seminar with young researchers from MIMSE and visited the MUST Liu’s Innovation and Technology Center and the MUST Innovation and Technology Research Institute located in the Guangdong–Macau In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. This provided them with direct insight into Macao’s research platforms and team accomplishments.
