The Faculty of Innovation Engineering at Macau University of Science and Technology Achieves Breakthrough in U.S. News & World Report’s Subject Rankings 2025–2026

In the latest U.S. News & World Report’s Subject Rankings 2025–2026, the Faculty of Innovation Engineering (FIE) of Macau University of Science and Technology has demonstrated robust growth, achieving significant improvements across multiple disciplines. Notably, its Artificial Intelligence discipline ranked 88th globally, underscoring its leadership in this field. Additionally, Engineering discipline surged 199 places, Materials Science discipline rose 85 places, Chemistry discipline advanced 55 places, Electrical and Electronic Engineering discipline climbed 18 places, and Computer Science discipline gained 8 places. This year also saw the inclusion of four new disciplines—Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, Mathematics, Environmental/Ecology, and Physical Chemistry—marking a comprehensive breakthrough in the FIE’s interdisciplinary research and academic influence, further highlighting its all-around development and competitiveness across diverse fields.

This multifaceted achievement reflects not only the FIE’s sustained excellence in traditional strengths, such as artificial intelligence, engineering technology, and materials science, but also its rapid rise in emerging interdisciplinary fields like Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, and Environmental/Ecology.
