In alignment with the Macao SAR Government’s policies on the promotion of science education and to support local youth in their academic and diversified development, the Faculty of Innovation Engineering (“FIE”) at the Macau University of Science and Technology has officially launched the "Macau High School Students Research Internship Program" ("Program"). The initiative aims to provide research internship opportunities for Macau high school students who are passionate about technology and demonstrate potential in related fields. It allows students to actively participate in research activities, inspiring their interests and laying a foundation for their future careers in research. At the same time, the program also seeks to cultivate a new generation of talent for Macau's research sector, contributing to the sustainable development of research education in the region.

On January 24, 2025, the FIE formally signed a cooperation agreement with Hou Kong Middle School to implement the inaugural "Macau High School Students Research Internship Program", jointly advancing the progress of research education in Macao.

Under the agreement, the FIE will offer research internship opportunities to more than 25 high school students from Hou Kong Middle School and Premier School Affiliated to Hou Kong Middle School. The students will delve into the laboratories of the FIE, gaining close exposure to the specific operations of research work, experiencing the joys and challenges of the research process firsthand, and exploring their academic interests and future development directions in the process.
