In the morning of August 6, 2025, Mr. Chen Haipeng, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Institute for Science of Science (SISS), led a delegation to visit Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST). The guests were warmly received by Chair Professor Li Zhiwu, Assistant Dean of Faculty of Innovation Engineering, Associate Professor Gao Kaizhou and Assistant Professor Li Zhongjun from the Department of Engineering Science, as well as Mr. Li Lianghong, Institute Secretary of Coordination and Liaison at the MUST Hengqin Institute.
Visit to MUST LIU’s Innovation and Technology Center
During this visit, the delegation toured the MUST LIU’s Innovation and Technology Center, where they viewed Macau’s first fully demonstrative autonomous vehicle converted from a conventional electric car. They also explored the Macao Institute of Materials Science and Engineering’s cutting-edge interdisciplinary innovations and industrial applications in new materials, new energy and display technologies. Thereafter, Macao Environmental Research Institute presented the solid waste recycling processes and the Innovation Research Center for Medical Robotics presented an intraoperative real-time robot control system used throughout the entire process of brachytherapy surgery.

After visiting the MUST LIU’s Innovation and Technology Center, the delegation toured the MUST History and Achievements Exhibition Hall to gain a comprehensive understanding of the university's development and background. Subsequently, the two sides held exchange meeting, during which they exchanged souvenir.
The meeting featured in-depth discussions on topics such as technological innovation, talent cultivation, and industry-academia-research collaboration. The delegation gained a deeper insight into MUST's scientific research development and innovative achievements. FIE expressed their anticipation for strengthened future cooperation with the Shanghai Institute for Science of Science in areas such as technological R&D and academic exchanges, jointly promoting technological innovation and industrial development.
