The 2023/2024 Graduation Ceremony jointly organized by Faculty of Innovative Engineering (FIE) and the Space Science Institute (SSI) of Macau University of Science and Technology (M.U.S.T.), was successfully held on June 11, 2024 at N101. Dean of Faculty of Innovation Engineering, Chair Prof. Joseph Hun Wei Lee delivered a speech at the graduation ceremony, congratulating the graduates on completing their four-year academic journey and expressing his heartfelt gratitude to the guests and teachers. He told the graduates that we are entering an exciting new age of accelerated computing where AI-super-computers can assist with drug discovery in entirely new ways, and digital twins of complex systems with full fidelity are seemingly possible. However, machines do not mean they are smarter. In this cyber age of generative AI, human ingenuity is needed more than ever. AI needs to be guided by wisdom in order to serve humanity well. He encouraged graduates to continue to learn and explore, bravely unleash their imagination, challenge themselves, and contribute to the ever-innovating engineering field.

Director of School of Computer Science and Engineering, Chair Prof. Zhang Du, was invited to deliver a speech at the graduation ceremony. He encouraged graduates to not forget their original aspirations, always uphold the motto of their alma mater, pursue excellence, continue to maintain their enthusiasm for learning, bravely pursue their dreams, and contribute to the development of the country and the progress of mankind.

Chair Professor Zong Qiugang, Director of Space Science Institute delivered a speech at the graduation ceremony. He told the graduates that how to solve complex problems and persevere in the face of difficulties and challenges are essential foundations for their future success. He encouraged graduates to remain curious, thirsty for knowledge, and never cease exploring and innovating.

Starting from the 2022/2023 academic year, the University has established the “Honor Cord” award to recognize academic excellence and outstanding performance of graduating students and foster students' motivation and enthusiasm in learning to create a positive learning atmosphere. Graduates eligible for the “Honor Cord” must achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or above. The class of 2024 Bachelor of Science graduates from the School of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Innovation Engineering, Chen Siying and Li Cheng were awarded the Second-class Honor Cord.

After presenting the degree certificates and graduation honor cords, Professor Cai Zhanchuan, Academic Representative of the Faculty of Innovative Engineering, was invited to share his teaching achievements. He encouraged graduates to apply the knowledge they have learned, give full play to their creativity and innovative spirit to solve various technical problems, create new interdisciplinary technologies, and promote technological progress and social development.

Prof. Chi Li Feng of the Faculty of Innovation Engineering delivered a video message to all the graduates and congratulated them on their successful completion of their studies and embarking on a new chapter in life. She expressed her hope that the graduates can often visit their alma mater, contribute to the development of the institute and laboratory, and share their successful experiences and social insights with their younger fellow students.

Ms. Chen Siying, representative of Faculty of Innovation Engineering graduates, expressed gratitude to the university and the teachers, family, and friends for their support in her speech. She reflected on her four-year journey at the university and encouraged her fellow graduates to uphold the school motto of " Dedication to practical studies, enhancement of knowledge, ability and quality. ", to maintain their passion for technology and their pursuit of innovation, and to open the next chapter of their lives with confidence, facing bigger opportunities and challenges.
