Course Introduction
The Bachelor of Science in Space Science and Technology aims to cultivate innovative, interdisciplinary talents with a solid foundation in mathematics and science, mastery of cutting-edge theories and skills in space science and artificial intelligence, and outstanding practical application abilities. The curriculum covers fundamental theories of space science, development trends in deep-space exploration technologies, and the applications of artificial intelligence in intelligent sensing, automated control, data acquisition, and related areas. Students will not only systematically master methods for space science data observation, processing, and interpretation, but will also develop the capability to apply AI technologies to real-world space-related problems, thereby forming a rigorous scientific style, independent thinking skills, and an innovative academic mindset.
A distinctive feature of this programme is its close alignment with national space strategies and the forefront of international scientific and technological development:
1. Oriented toward national strategic needs: Serving the national vision of building a strong spacefaring nation and a leading science and technology power, in line with major missions such as deep-space exploration and satellite applications.
2. Empowered by artificial intelligence: Emphasising the application of AI in space science, and fostering innovation in data acquisition, mission planning, and spacecraft design.
3. Responding to talent shortages: Meeting the urgent demand for professionals arising from the rapid development of space science and the commercial space industry, and cultivating top-tier, innovative talents.
4. Global vision: Drawing on international exploration missions such as those of NASA, ESA, and JAXA to enhance students’ global competitiveness.
Upon completion of the programme, graduates will possess solid theoretical knowledge and practical capabilities, and will become high-calibre professionals poised to lead the future development of space science and technology.
Upon approval from the Senate of the University, a Bachelor’s Degree will be conferred on a student when he or she has:
1. completed and met the requirements prescribed in the study plan of his or her program within the specific study period*,
2. abided by the regulations of the University,
3. cleared all fees and charges and returned all University property and equipment borrowed.
* Students admitted from the academic year 2017/2018 onwards are required to achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above in order to graduate.
# The curriculum is only for students admitted from the academic year 2026/2027 onwards.
