The Fourth Lecture of “The Faculty of Innovation Engineering of M.U.S.T. - Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Lecture Series - Nanotechnology for Precision Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases” Successfully Held

On the occasion of the 24th Anniversary of the Macau University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Innovation Engineering held a series of Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Lectures, and invited experts from different fields to give a series of special lectures and share their research results and professional knowledge in the field of cutting-edge science and technology with teachers and students of our university. There are altogether 9 lectures in the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Lecture Series, with the fourth lecture held at the 2:30 pm on April 12, 2024 at MUST LIU’s Innovation and Technology Center.

This lecture was hosted by Professor Man Keung Fung of the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Dr. Chen Ji Min, Secretary General of University Council, Ms. Su Hsiang Mei, Member of University Council and Administrative Officer of Macao Translational Medicine Center, and attracted 60 undergraduate and graduate students from the Faculty of Innovation Engineering participated.

Professor Man Keung Fung was hosting the lecture

Prof. Yao He, Professor of Department of Materials Science and Engineering, was invited to deliver a keynote speech on the theme of "Nanotechnology for Precision Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases", discussing the nanotechnology for biological and biomedical applications. Prof. Yao He expressed that in the past several decades, we have witnessed the giant advancement of nanotechnology, which provides exciting new opportunities for myriad electronic, energetic, environmental, biological, and biomedical applications. Among them, the exploration of nanotechnology for biological and biomedical applications is one of the most important branches, receiving extensive attentions and revolutionizing basic research and clinical applications in recent years. This seminar particularly focuses on the development of nanotechnology for biosensing, bioimaging, as well as diseases diagnosis and therapy, which will be of interest to chemists, materials scientists, biologists, and clinicians.
